Riding bikes with boys

a new day.. a quick bike ride... and "where are we?"...
Follow the leader...
As close as I got to the Louvre.. next time..
Jez being Jez :)
Notre Dam = tourist central..
Cue spooky music.. this place scared me a little... just imagine the dark organ playing in the background..
I was trying to take pictures left, right and centre but it couldn't focus... (cue spooky music again) Why couldn't it focus?! was it because there were spooky spirits everywhere?? Arghhh! I had the heeby jeebies here for sure :)
Ok, finally focused! This is what the spooky church looks like from the inside....
It was beautiful though.. in a gothic, scary kind of way :)
Joan of arc
Incredible stain glass windows..
Dead guy emerging from his coffin surrounded by what looked like The Grim Reaper, A pretty buff looking Angel in the buff and a peasant lady.. I am guessing it is something to do with purgatory?? Help me out Roman Catholic friends? Whatever is happening here it was definately adding to the spooky vibes I was getting. Amazing craft man ship though.
This is what I was really looking forward to.. seeing Gargoyles! These statues were incredible, still pretty scary though. I am guessing that fear was an excellent motivator to get people to practice their faith, well, faithfully. Hmmm.
And onward ride..
Megsie looking hot with her bike..
Dali work
And finally to the Pompidou
Otherwise known as The Inside Out Building
Hot after our ride but ready to head inside
View from inside the Pompidou, Sacre Coeur up on the hill top on the right hand side.
Eiffel Tower in the distance
Inside the escalator area.. it was hot like a sauna in there.
The gang.
Best lemonade brand ever. It kept me amused for at least three minutes.
Kate, Ollie and I stayed around the Pompidou for a while and then rode over the the Eiffel Tower to meet with the rest of the group. Ollie lead Kate and I through major traffic, through a huge multi-lane round about on our little push bikes.. a nervous highlight :)
So here we are, back at the Tower... right in time for the light display to start. Very impressive.
See, VERY impressive.
Much prettier at night.
Smack, bang underneath.
Hanging out under the stars..
drinking wine straight from the bottle.. communal germs and fun. All class.
And onward for Crepes and another Cafe au lait, merci
Followed by a glorious ride home, singing the whole way... wonderful.
