Hello London...

I flew via Iceland to London, good Lord.. those people are beautiful! I had my head in my book while waiting for my flight, I looked up and was gob smacked by the hords of gorgeous people! Note to self, visit Iceland.
Kate and my new BIG brother Steve (house mate) came to pick me up from Heathrow
They picked me up in their car - which was SO wonderful because I was really over the traveling by this stage and just wanted to get home.
When I arrived at Kate's house I felt so at home.. there waiting for me were two familiar items.. a set of tiles I collected at a flea market in Camberwell earlier in the year, Kate brought them over for me in her case. How lovely.
Unpacking my brand new bed.. a mattress! Hooray!
Kates lovely bed... a futon chair :D One day we will have real beds. One day.
Sunday lunch.. at the pub. We had to sit outside, it was FREEZING! I caught a bit of a chill after this. Bummer.
Pretty pub, The Red Lion
Cricketers on the green.. and it really is GREEN!
A quick drive through Richmond Park on the way home.. look really hard past the dash and you will see a herd of wild deer - WILD DEER!!
So we headed to the high street for a hot chocolate to warm up. I suddenly felt at home, I mean just look at that floral tea cup! Best hot chocolate, Italian style. Yum.

Oh and there is Kate... we are busy planning all the wonderful things we would like to buy for our house from the wonderful world of ARGOS. Oh la la.
I now have this clothes rack. The end.

Musseums, bridges and buildings

Guggenheim
Bridge and the next day to the MOMA
I admit that I really like the movie The Devil Wears Prada, Dean & Deluca have a couple of references during the movie, so I stopped in for dinner.
And did the touristy thing..
Uptown left to right
Down town
I was wearing a flowy skirt and a thin cardigan.. not appropriate on a windy rooftop.. I flashed strangers. And froze. And had to take a really crap picture of myself trying to keep my hair out of my face. I wasn't willing to do the whole "can you take a picture of me" so instead you get this terrible shot. voila!
And I waited for it to get dark.. ooh pretty lights!
Tiffany met me afterwards and we ate wonderful pastries.
Next day I was ready to explore the East Village area a little more..
Coffee, muffin and reading about my best friend Gwyn (I'm not a stalker at all).. I was just around the corner from her house, I thought about stopping by, but remembered she might be a bit busy. Next time Gwyn. Heart you forever!
Creepy guy who sat in front of me. PS Worst muffin of my life. dry and tasteless, luckily Gwyn make it all better.
Met up with Tiffany and her wonderful sister for a wafflicious dinner! Followed by a nice stroll around the area and a visit to the strand. I bought literature and poetry. Dreamy.
And then it was time to say goodbye.. to my new wonderful friends.. and to America.

The big beautiful lake in central park... walking to the Met Museum... hot and humid.. my hair was as little frizz ball.. and its hard to get my hair frizzy.
See - frizzy hair. And stanley came along for the ride. I heart you Stanley.
This piece painted by Paul Delvaux was one of the most wonderful art experiences of my life... I felt like I could just walk into the painting.. wonderful moment. Cheers Paul.
I am a huge fan of Balthaus. Love the overly tall woman here and the colours are amazing!
I love love love oh have I mentioned that I love Art Deco work.. they had a whole section of work dedicated to the period.. I nearly DIED! Wonderful.
Cigarette cases to die for
Love it!
Jacob had to sneak away to catch his flight back to Nahsville and I headed back to my lovely hostel.. to complete the rest of my trip on my own. Look here I am in my room.. the room was super squishy and I had a top bunk... no one wants a top bunk.. they suck! But it was clean and the bathrooms were amazing! I met some really great girls here though so I really can't complain.
After days on my feet, walking at least 6 hours a day in flat shoes my feet had had enough! They were so sore, bruised soles, I couldn't bear the thought of going out on the town or walking around so I went to the cinema around the corner from my hostel, wearing my havaianas, which I hate wearing out in public (although I just spent a few days in Paris wearing them!) and watched How To Train Your Dragon in 3D... not a normal movie of choice but it was that or some horror movie. I actually really loved it, first movie on my own too. But the next day my feet were thankful. xx
